The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998, or as most people recognise it as 'LOLER' aims to ensure that all lifting equipment in use is regularly checked six monthly and undergoes an annual service.

The aim of the LOLER Regulation is to make everyone's working life safer when using and coming into contact with lifting equipment; employers and employees, contractors and others.

The regulations advise everyone should carry out an on the spot risk assessment before using any lifting equipment, this will enable any concerns to be highlighted and ensures everyone accessing or using the lifting equipment will be safe.

Please ensure that you contact the relevant person and document the equipment in place is not safe for use.
