One Glide Sheet Technique for Bed Transfers

One glide sheet can be used on its own to support a person position their legs in bed and this technique can be carried out by one carer.

A key point to remember is the person must be able to sit un aided at the edge of the bed, feet flat on the floor and hands on the bed.

If a carer has to physically support a person to sit upright while carrying out the technique their posture will be twisted and could lead to injury of the spine.
